About Us
Practical IT education
Overview
IT Club Cambodia teaches the digital skills that school IT lessons do not cover. Our courses are practical, delivered in Khmer, and designed for students in grades 10 to 12 at partner schools across Cambodia.
A course is designed to be delivered in 25 hours, either before or after school or at weekends. Delivered by your school’s own teacher using our materials. All courses are available at no cost to qualifying partner schools.

Our Mission
IT Club Cambodia exists to give Khmer students access to the practical IT skills they need for work, study, and daily life.
We believe the digital divide in Cambodia is not inevitable. With the right curriculum, the right teachers, and materials delivered in Khmer, every student in grades 10–12 can gain the confidence and skills to navigate the digital world safely and effectively.
Complementing MoEYS Digital Strategy
Both the MoEYS Education Strategic Plan 2024–2028 and the MoEYS Digital Education Strategy for Schools recognise the urgent need to expand digital education across Cambodia.
Both plans explicitly encourage NGO partnerships to help meet the growing demand for student digital skills — particularly in underserved communities.
IT Club Cambodia delivers its free courses in direct support of these national priorities, working alongside school directors and teachers to build practical digital competence from Grade 10 upwards
IT Club Cambodia supporting Cambodia’s Education Strategy
Cambodia’s Education Strategic Plan 2024–2028 identifies Advancing Digital Education as Priority 5 of eight national reform priorities, and the curriculum framework lists ICT as a subject for grades 11–12. However, according to the Asian Development Bank, only around 17% of upper secondary students actually receive ICT classes, because most schools lack the equipment and trained teachers to deliver them.
IT Club Cambodia works within these constraints. Our curriculum runs on computers a school already has, and where access is limited, students can follow on smartphones. Existing teachers are trained to deliver the course — and many build their own digital confidence alongside their students.
Starting at Grade 10, students gain practical digital skills before entering the workforce or higher education, covering topics the national ICT curriculum does not yet address: online safety, scam awareness, cyberbullying, AI literacy, and social media risks.
IT Club Cambodia is a practical complement to the national strategy — delivering now what the system is working to make universal.
In December 2025, MoEYS also published a Gender Mainstreaming Strategic Plan for Education 2025–2029, which specifically targets girls’ participation in digital skills and STEM. Read how IT Club Cambodia aligns with this
Who Can Join?
IT Club Cambodia works with a selected number of partner schools each year. We prioritise schools where:
Students are in grades 10 to 12
The school has a computer room with internet access
A teacher is available and willing to deliver the course
The school director supports the programme and can provide feedback
We work with high schools, technical institutes and NGO education programmes.

How it all started
IT Club Cambodia began in 2019 with a single partner school in Kampong Thom Province. KCIT — a leading Institute of Technology incorporating a high school for grades 10–12. We recognised the students lacked social media awareness and produced a pilot programme. The results were seen as worthwhile to expand and continue.
The course was developed by our IT professionals with many years experience of software development, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and digital communications. From the start, the decision was made to deliver everything in Khmer — not as a translation of an English curriculum, but as a curriculum designed for Cambodian students and Cambodian conditions.
Over five years, the programme has grown steadily. KCIT has continued to run multiple courses per year. In 2025, IT Club Cambodia formed a new partnership with Enfants du Mekong (Children of the Mekong), a major international NGO operating schools and student programmes across SE Asia. Teacher training has been completed and the programme is now being rolled out across their network.
To date, IT Club Cambodia has taught more than 3,000 students across partner schools and institutes. The curriculum has been updated continuously — adding more subjects in safety and AI.
How we are funded
IT Club Cambodia is funded entirely by private donors through To Grow An Orchid, a privately funded NGO commited to helping children in poorer rural areas. We receive no government funding and are not dependent on grants or commercial sponsorship.
All course materials — PowerPoint presentations, teacher notes, and supporting online content — are provided free of charge to partner schools. There is no cost to schools, teachers, or students at any point. The team works on a voluntary basis. Funding covers course development, translation, teacher training, and the costs of running this website.
